“How can I get Millennials to work!?”

This is specifically for my friends and clients in automotive. But there are some insights for all of us who are helping Millennials to work.

First off, Millennials aren’t magically lazy. Exhibit A: Nashville.

High Garden Tea: This beautiful retail location was destroyed in the March 2020 tornado, but the company still has a thriving online business. Please ignore the creepy American Girl doll on the table.

Every time my family and I visit the town, I’m blown away by the number of young people creating things and serving them to customers.

From world-class coffee and bean-to-bar chocolate to artificial intelligence to predict personalities and some of the most interesting retail shops I’ve ever seen, Nashville has a lot of young people smiling–and sweating.

We should ask ourselves: Why?

Second off, my friend and colleague Andy Buck has a 3-minute commercial for his work recruiting and training for car sales. His thought worth chewing on is that gens Y and Z are not lazy: “They want to succeed … they don’t know how. It’s our job to teach them.”

They want to succeed … they don’t know how. It’s our job to teach them.
