For car dealerships: FTC Revised Safeguards

This post is for the sake of my many automotive clients. You have heard through NADA or your state association that the FTC’s new Safeguards rules go into effect early December.

I don’t know if you are ready, but here are two thoughts.

  1. This is one more opportunity to “chunk it down.” You could work on a big issue like CULTURE CHANGE or BUILDING TRUST AMONG DEPARTMENTS. But it’s too big. And too abstract. Better to “chunk it down” to one item that allows team members to communicate without too much risk on something where they can be assured of success. You can build culture and trust on the momentum of that win.
  2. It’s an opportunity to work with an expert. iSAFE put together a primer on the FTC Revised Safeguards that explain the requirements and how managed services can help.

No, I don’t receive compensation for recommending this service. But I like to point clients toward people of integrity and knowledge when I can. Good luck firming up your processes and plans.
