What did you think? You may have read the “guest post” written by the artificial intelligence ChatGPT, with accompanying illustrations by AI-driven TOME. I want to explain just how simple the process was. It was four steps.
I typed into ChatGPT, “Write an article in the style of the blog at www.hipsocket.net.”
ChatGPT instantly generated an article, grammatically flawless, with the title, “The Importance of Staying Connected in a Digital Age.” Certainly relevant to Hip Socket’s interests.
I then typed into ChatGPT, “Make references to classical education.”
ChatGPT revised the article with a new title: “The Importance of a Classical Education in a Digital Age.” Again, it was flawless, if a bit, like the first article, more generalities than specifics.
Finally, I typed into ChatGPT, “Add some humor to the article.”
What came out is, word for word, exactly what I pasted into the blog post. The jokes are even funny.
My only other step was to add subtitles and illustrations. I first asked ChatGPT to do it. It said it could not make images. Subtitles confused it enough that it produced first an outline, then a new article with subtitles.
So I gave up on subtitles but used TOME for illustrations. I gave the chatbot the title of the article, and it produced an eight-page slide deck with illustrations (and slide text) to match. I pasted those brand-new, never-before-seen images into the article and published.
Sure, some of the images are nightmare fuel. But better than I could do–plus, I’m not paying any royalties.
What might AI do for you?
What might it take away?
BONUS ROUND: I asked ChatGPT to write its own version of what happened to create the post. Here it is. I think its hook is better than mine.
Exploring the Capabilities of AI Language Models with ChatGPT
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a personal writer at your disposal, ready to generate high-quality content at a moment’s notice? Well, with the advent of AI language models, this is now a reality. In this article, we will explore the capabilities of one such model, ChatGPT, and how it was used to create an article for our blog.
ChatGPT is a large language model developed by OpenAI. It is trained on a massive dataset of text and is capable of generating human-like text on a wide variety of topics. In order to use ChatGPT, all you need is an internet connection and access to the API.
To create the article, I simply had to provide ChatGPT with a prompt, which acts as a starting point for the model to generate text. For this article, the prompt was “Write an article in the style of the blog at www.hipsocket.net.” From there, ChatGPT generated a draft of the article, which I then edited and formatted to fit the style of our blog.
One of the most impressive capabilities of ChatGPT is its ability to understand and respond to follow-up prompts. For example, I was able to request that the model add subtitles and humor to the article, and it was able to do so seamlessly. This ability to generate text based on specific instructions makes ChatGPT a powerful tool for content creation, as it allows for a high degree of customization and control over the final output.
Another impressive feature of ChatGPT is its ability to maintain a consistent style and tone throughout the generated text. This is particularly useful for creating long-form content, such as articles and blog posts, as it ensures that the final output is coherent and easy to read.
One of the key benefits of using an AI language model like ChatGPT for content creation is the speed at which it can generate text. With ChatGPT, I was able to create a draft of this article in a matter of minutes, which would have taken hours if done by a human writer. This speed and efficiency can be particularly useful for businesses and individuals who need to generate a large amount of content in a short amount of time.
