A clickbaity title, but check out the three articles that came across my desk at the same time:
Arthur C. Brooks has a new book in which he discusses a 1930s Harvard study that followed men into their older ages. He points out that those who were happy set habits in their younger years–seven habits, to be exact.
One was to practice your coping mechanisms now. Just like Nathan Chen did to win gold. Read “Olympic skater Nathan Chen’s 7-word mental hack to capture gold: I stopped thinking ‘I’m here to win.’”
Another: Keep learning. Did you hear the story about the cheesemaker and the student who saved their church $66,000 with a can of WD-40?
Any time we can wrestle and grow–and laugh, I’m in. Set habits. Go for the gold. Save a church a bunch of money. And for goodness sake, don’t run out of WD-40.
